Maintain your weight this holiday season!
Though most people believe the average American gains 5 pounds during the holiday season, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine (2000) states that number is closer to just 1 pound. The bad news, however, is that most people never lose that weight after the holidays. This leads to excess weight gain year after year.
Maintain . . . Don’t Gain! challenge instructions:
- Weigh-in at one of the participating Cumberland wellness centers or worksites between Monday, November 17th and Monday, November 24th. You will receive a challenge log book at that time.
- Select and track your healthy habits in the log book during the challenge. You can choose different habits each week, or work on the same habits throughout the entire challenge. We also recommend that you track the number of calories you eat and exercise most days of the holiday season, too.
- Weigh out and submit your completed log book at one of the participating Cumberland health or fitness centers or worksites no later than Friday, January 9, 2009to be eligible for the cash prize drawing.
