| Healthier Cumberland Coalition and the Cumberland Elementary School have partnered again this year to offer a third annual noon recess walking program for students. This year's campaign started on Monday, March 30th and will last just two weeks. Adult volunteers walk with students on the playground during recess. For each day that a student participates, he or she will get their name entered into a drawing for fun, outdoor prizes. The 2009 recess walking program comes at the end of Cumberland Elementary's 10-week Movin' and Munchin' program, a staff-led campaign to promote healthy habits and physical activity among students and families. |
